Internal water cooling using stainless tubing which cast directly into the good quality heavy section cast iron molds. Cooling waterflows through the molds at all times. Hence they are more dimensionally stable. This gives good ingot ejection characteristics and also tends to impart a good surface finish. Some client also find the internal metallurgical structure of alloy ingots is improving by the virtue of the relatively quick chill achieved.
